Kevin Bice works in a variety of painting and drawing media. His subject matter is also diverse from traditional imagery to collaged images arising from old photographs. Whatever the subject or medium, the common denominator is his love of light. He gives workshops for local and area art groups. He was also involved in “The River Project” (2008), an effort by 19 local artists and writers to draw awareness to the rich history and beauty of the Thames River within the boundaries of the city of London.
The Blackfriars Bridge continues to be a favourite subject in Kevin’s art. He works from his studio and outdoors across Canada as well as in Italy, Britain and France. His first real understanding of the wonders and difficulties of painting on location came from a sketching trip to Newfoundland in 1973 with his father whose work still inspires all that he does.
