Lisa Stead
Mixed Media Painting
Lisa Stead is a full-time abstract artist in London, Ontario. Her works can be found in several Canadian galleries and private collections. She works in both expressive abstracts and abstracted landscapes. With a background in visual arts, graphic design and photography she adapts those practices into her compositions by incorporating organic forms, pattern, colour and movement as it relates to nature.
“I have an intuitive process with an unrestricted approach. I’m inspired by the elements of earth, water and air, and combine mixed mediums to emulate nature’s natural production of repetition and spontaneous characteristics. As the many layers of mixed mediums overlap, the composition starts to reveal itself. I work to create harmony and balance with the sometimes chaotic compositions.”
