Olukayode (Kay) Ojo

Kay Ojo is a Nigerian-born Canadian artist whose artistic journey began at the prestigious Art School of the University of Benin. Under the mentorship of renowned contemporary art masters, Kay earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with First Class Honours. His education, combined with learning from traditional African art masters, has greatly enriched his artistic vision, blending diverse cultural influences into his work.

Kay’s distinctive art style is defined by its unpredictability, spontaneity, and freedom from thematic constraints. His work explores abstract expressionism with bold, emotive strokes that defy conventional boundaries. Alongside his personal practice, Kay has shared his expertise by teaching visual arts at the college level, nurturing the next generation of artists.

In addition to his gallery exhibits, Kay has left his mark in public spaces, including a mural at the Mezzanine of Covent Garden Market. His passion for community engagement shines through his project, Kay’s Art Live (K.A.L.), where he invites fellow Londoners to join him in live painting sessions, fostering artistic collaboration and creativity.
