Jay Anderson
Painting
Jay is an oil painter of still lives, portraits, and landscapes, with a preference for working from life. Much of his work is carried out en plein air around London, where he is currently based, and around his hometowns Fergus and Elora. Some of these studies are used as inspiration for work done in his home studio. He seeks to create paintings that foreground the material quality of the brushwork and at the same time capture a convincing feeling for the play of light and shadow on a given subject.
