Kim Kaitell

Artist’s bio

Kim is known to work with highly textured surfaces, mainly employing plaster along with other elements of mixed media such as linen, burlap, collage and encaustic wax. Her work has been described as restful, ethereal, spiritual and playful. This past year she’s been experimenting with watercolour and the surprising and fun use of paper bag as a substrate.

Kim studied at the Alberta Collage of Art and Atelier Bleu Verte in Bordeaux, France. Always interested in expanding her creativity, she continues studying art techniques with various online courses.

Kim has been living in London ON for over 25 years and hears the call of the crows every morning. You will find they show up in her paintings along with ravens, semi-abstract skyscapes, and landscapes. You can visit her rotating collection every Saturday and Sunday at OĀZA Studio Gallery located at The Farmers and Artisans’ Market inside the Western Fair grounds.
