Joanna Mozdzen is a sculptor, mask-maker, ceramic artist and teacher. She discovered her passion for working in clay while studying at the Bealart Program. Most of her work showcases human faces and figures. The themes vary between serious and humorous in nature. In her studio, you will find an appealing variety of work ranging from miniature to life size busts, figures, ceramic wall masks, as well as jewelry and whimsical laughing animals. Her most recent works reveal the beauty of the human form: figures in meditative poses reflect a state of inner peace. Joanna loves the feeling of the cold, wet clay under her fingers, and says it gives her a sense of consecutiveness with the Earth.
